Budgeting for Your Move
Tips on how to budget effectively for your upcoming move.
We're different: our movers are company shareholders, not employees. They're better paid and care more about your move.
From the first moment they walked in, they treated my belongings with real respect. The movers didn't just toss things around or rush through it. They paused to ask where items should go, wrapped my old bookshelf like it was a museum piece, and double-checked the fragile boxes. It really felt like they were invested in the job, not just getting it over with.
In Port Moody, we believe a better move starts with a better mover. That’s why we only work with owner operators, experienced professionals who take pride in every job because they are shareholders in the company and stand behind their work. You’ll pay rates that match or beat most companies in the area, but you’ll get more care, more accountability, and better overall value. When someone’s invested in your move, it shows.
A local move in Port Moody may look straightforward, but the reality is often more complex. If you’ve ever wrestled a moving van up the incline on Heritage Mountain or tried to park near Rocky Point Park during a busy weekend, you know what we mean. Between narrow side streets, condo loading bay restrictions in Suter Brook, and sudden rain showers off Burrard Inlet, there’s plenty that can trip you up.
That’s where local expertise comes in. Our Port Moody teams actually live here and understand the city’s quirks, when to avoid Ioco Road traffic, which back routes bypass St. Johns Street congestion, and how to secure permits without a hitch. Having that insider knowledge means fewer holdups, lower costs, and a move that stays on schedule.
Pianos are more than just heavy, they're delicate, sentimental, and often one of a kind. In Port Moody, we’ve moved everything from uprights tucked into hillside basements to baby grands perched in condos above the Inlet. Each move demands a different approach, and we bring the planning, patience, and experience to get it right.
Navigating a steep driveway in Heritage Woods or a tight spiral staircase near Moody Centre isn’t something you want to leave to chance. That’s why we show up with the right tools, padded protection, and a careful mindset. We don’t rush. We don’t wing it. Your piano gets the steady hands and full attention it deserves, because it’s never just another piece of furniture.
Commercial moves in Port Moody require more than just strong backs, they take planning, coordination, and a team that understands what’s at stake. Whether you’re relocating a small office near St. Johns Street or shifting equipment out of a business park in Inlet Centre, we keep things running on time and with minimal disruption.
We take care of the details behind the scenes, communicating with property managers, organizing elevator access, and labeling everything so your setup on the other end is fast and frustration-free. Need to move after business hours? No problem. Got fragile tech or specialized gear? We come prepared. When you're focused on running a business, we handle the heavy lifting without slowing you down.
Packing is one of the most important, and most overlooked, parts of a smooth move. That’s why our Port Moody team takes it seriously. Whether you're getting ready to leave a condo in Suter Brook or a family home in Glenayre, we’re here to make sure everything is packed safely and stress-free.
We bring the supplies, strong boxes, quality wrap, tape, and padding, and handle your belongings with care and attention. If you want full-service packing, we’ve got it covered. If you just need help with fragile items or that cluttered kitchen? We're happy to step in. No pressure, no judgment, just professional help to make sure your things are ready to travel safely to their next stop.
Our excellent storage partners have locations throughout the Lower Mainland.
Our story began in Vancouver’s West End, just two movers, one truck, and a lot of hustle. In those early days, we handled everything ourselves, learning the ins and outs of the industry from the ground up. We ran a small warehouse in Gastown, briefly sold packing supplies out of an old West Broadway shop, and even operated from a converted firehall in East Van. But as the city grew and space got tighter, we looked east, and that’s when Port Moody came into the picture.
It didn’t take long to feel at home here. From walkups near St. Johns Street to family homes tucked into the hills of Heritage Woods, Port Moody offered the kind of tight-knit, fast-growing community that fit our way of doing business. We’ve helped artists move studios near the Inlet, packed up condos in Suter Brook, and worked jobs that needed patience, planning, and care.
Today, we operate without storefronts or warehouses. Our focus is lean and local, partnering with trusted teams for supplies and storage so we can concentrate on what we do best: moving. We still carry the lessons from our Vancouver beginnings, but these days, much of our story plays out in Port Moody. And we’re proud of that.
